A freight train derailed in the Pskov region of the Russian Federation

13 wagons of a freight train derailed in the Porkhov district of the Pskov region.

In the Pskov region on Friday, June 24, a freight train derailed. The incident occurred at about 13:45 on the Lunevo-Porkhov stretch, the press service of the Oktyabrskaya Railway reported.

A preliminary investigation found that at a speed of 70 km/h the brakes were applied, followed by a stop of the train. When viewed by the locomotive crew, 13 wagons from wagons 1 to 13 were identified.

There were no casualties as a result of the descent. Recovery trains were sent to the scene from the nearest stations, the report said.

Because of the incident, the passenger train N820 Pskov-Petrozavodsk was detained, which was sent along the bypass section.

An operational headquarters was created to eliminate the consequences of the wagon derailment.
