The Ministry of Health reported how many doctors died in the war

Already 18 medical workers have died during the fighting, and more than 50 were injured in the five months of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine. reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

Since February 24, the terrorist country has killed at least 18 medical workers and injured more than 50, the report said.

The department also drew attention to the destruction of the medical infrastructure in the country. So, according to officials, 123 objects of the healthcare system are not subject to restoration, 746 are in need of restoration. They also noted that these are not final figures and they will change.

Despite the deliberate destruction of the medical infrastructure, the healthcare system is working and is being transformed in accordance with the needs that have arisen with the war, the Ministry of Health added.

They explained that they were talking about raising funds as part of the UNITED24 initiative, and about working on the creation of the National Program for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, and about the employment of internally displaced doctors, about medical evacuation of patients abroad, and about improving the rehabilitation system in Ukraine.

Speaking about international cooperation, the Ministry of Health noted that today already 17 states receive Ukrainian patients in the best specialized clinics, and evacuation flights abroad are carried out every day.

In total, 1,274 Ukrainians were sent abroad for treatment, the ministry said.

The Ministry of Health also assured that the payment of basic salaries at the level of at least 20,000 hryvnias for doctors and at least 13,500 hryvnias for nurses is ensured, and the funds are credited even to those doctors who remain in the occupation.
