Flat swindlers detained in Kiev
The fraudsters were selling properties that were not for sale.
A group of flat swindlers who fictitiously sold property will be tried in Kiev. This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.
The organiser of the "scheme" was a 39-year-old previously convicted resident of Kiev. She attracted three "assistants" to her scams. They tried to "sell" two flats for 60 thousand US dollars, which in fact were not for sale.
At the same time, the swindlers used their "artistic skills" to the maximum.
It was established that to realise fictitious sales of flats, the defendants staged a whole performance, where everyone performed his function - notary, realtor and flat owners, - reported the police.
The leader of the group pretended to be a notary. Her accomplices played the role of "assistants" and "realtor".
Conscientious buyers were invited to a specially rented office to conclude a deal on the sale and purchase of real estate, - said the law enforcers.
In case of a successful scam, the group members planned to sell three more properties worth more than 5m hryvnias.
The defendants could face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
