Five people killed in Kherson region as a result of a landmine explosion

Ukraine remains one of the most mined countries in the world.

Five people have been killed in a landmine explosion in Kherson Region. The head of the presidential office, Andriy Yermak, said that the people were killed in the village of Myrolyubivka, Novovorontsivska commune.

The tragedy occurred at one of the agricultural enterprises during the working day.

An undetonated shell exploded. The youngest victim was 27 years old, the oldest - 68," Andrei Yermak gave details.

It should be noted that the mine, which caused the death of five people, was left by the Russians running away.

We should add that up to a third of Ukraine's area is now mined by the enemy. A total of some 174,000 square kilometres of Ukrainian territory, including sea areas, are considered potentially contaminated with explosives.

Since Russia's full-scale invasion, 124 people, including six children, have died as a result of explosive ordnance detonations in Ukraine.
