Forbes estimates how much money Russia has already spent on the war with Ukraine

The amount spent on the war with Ukraine is already a quarter of Russia's annual budget.

Forbes reports that in nine months Russia's spending on the war amounted to about $82bn. That's a quarter of the country's entire annual budget

In 2021, all of Russia's budget revenues were $340bn.

The most money Russia lost on

- military supplies ($28.7 billion),

- lost equipment (20.8 billion)

- and military salaries.

In addition, Russia fired more than 4,000 missiles at Ukraine, at an average cost of $3 million per missile. In addition, $6.6 billion was spent on artillery support.

At the same time, Russian federal budget revenues from oil and gas exports are declining. Russia has already lost most of the European gas market after the stoppage of Nord Stream supplies. Sanctions on Russian oil will come into effect in December.
