US intelligence agencies conducted a special operation during which the leader of Al-Qaeda, al-Zawahiri, was killed.

It is reported by CNN.

According to US intelligence, Ayman al-Zawahiri, who led the al-Qaeda terrorist network after the assassination of its founder Osama bin Laden, was killed by a drone in Kabul over the weekend.

Joe Biden on Monday in his address to the nation said that not so long ago, the exact location of al-Zawahiri was established. The attack was carried out with two missiles. No members of the al-Zawahiri family or people living nearby were hurt.

The President of the United States said that this operation is a demonstration of the determination of the United States to pursue terrorists wherever they try to hide.

No matter how long it takes, no matter where you hide, if you threaten the Americans, the United States will get to you and eliminate you, the US President said.
