Ukrainian woman with a one-year-old child murdered in Germany: what is known about the perpetrator
A 16-year-old teenager from Ukraine has claimed involvement in the murder of a 32-year-old woman and her young child living in Dorsten.
This is stated in a joint statement of the prosecutor's office of Essen and Recklinghausen police. A 32-year-old Ukrainian citizen and her little daughter, a girl aged 1 year and 7 months, were found dead in the German town of Dorsten. The bodies were found on 29 June: the woman - on a forest path, the child - nearby in the bushes. According to preliminary data of forensic medical examination, the cause of death was bodily injuries received as a result of violent actions.
In the evening of the same day, a 16-year-old Ukrainian teenager living in Dorsten voluntarily came to the police and confessed his involvement in the murder. He was detained and the investigation is ongoing. So far there is no information about other suspects or whether the victim and the suspect knew each other.
According to the dpa news agency, the murdered woman has another daughter, aged 13, who is now in the care of the youth welfare service.
