Ukrainian troops withdraw from Zenit position in Avdiivka - Tarnavskyy
In order to preserve personnel, it was decided to withdraw from the Zenit position on the south-eastern outskirts of Avdeevka.
This was reported by the commander of the Tavriya operational-strategic group of troops, Oleksandr Tarnavskyy.
The OSUW command made a decision to withdraw the Ukrainian military from the Zenit position on the south-eastern outskirts of Avdiivka.
We held this position as long as it was possible to effectively deter and destroy the enemy. The decision to withdraw was made to preserve personnel and improve the operational situation," Tarnavskyy said.
Now the troops are regrouping, replenishing supplies and setting up units in new positions. And there is also a planned reinforcement of units.
Tactically, the occupation of these positions does not give the enemy a strategic advantage and does not change the situation within the Avdiivka defensive operation," he added.
According to Tarnavskyy, the Avdiivka direction in Donetsk Region is now the hottest along the entire length of the Russian-Ukrainian front line. Fierce fighting continues within Avdeevka - the enemy is constantly launching massive bombing strikes and continues to storm simultaneously from several directions.
There are currently no Ukrainian units blocked in Avdiivka.
