Ukrainian judokas won a full set of medals at the Grand Prix stage in Linz
Ukraine wins three medals at the Judo Grand Prix in Linz: gold, silver and bronze
Ukrainian judokas have successfully performed at the International Judo Federation (IJF) Grand Prix stage held in Linz, Austria. Representatives of the Ukrainian national team won a full set of awards - gold, silver and bronze medals.
The gold medal in the weight category up to 100kg was won by Anton Savitsky. In the final fight the Ukrainian athlete defeated the representative of Japan Kou Nakayama and climbed to the top step of the podium.
The silver medal in the category up to 60kg was won by Dilshot Khalmatov. In the decisive bout the Ukrainian lost to French judoka Romain Valadier-Picard and took the second place.
The bronze medal for Ukraine was brought by Yulia Kuryachenko, who competed in the weight category over 78kg. In the semi-final the Ukrainian athlete lost to the representative of the Netherlands Lika Ders, but in the fight for third place she confidently defeated Frenchwoman Coralie Godbeau.
Thus, the Ukrainian national team finished the tournament in Linz with three medals, demonstrating a high level of preparation and competitiveness in the international arena.
At the Grand Prix stage in Linz traditionally perform the strongest judokas of the world, and the tournament is part of the world tour of the International Judo Federation. Victories and prizes at such competitions bring the athletes important ranking points in the fight for qualification for major international tournaments.
