Before the full-scale war, it was planned that the corvette would be delivered for completion to Ukraine from Turkey.

The Ukrainian corvette Hetman Ivan Mazepa has left the Turkish dock for the first sea trials. This was reported by military observer Enes Balci.

The ship is armed with a 76-millimetre Super Rapid shipboard artillery system manufactured by the Italian company OTO Melara, and on the bow of the ship there is a naval anti-aircraft missile system VL MICA, reports Militarnyi.

The photo also shows the Thales Sting EO MK2 fire control system radar, satellite communication system from Aselsan, ARES-2N electronic warfare system and Mk 36 SRBOC dipole jamming system.

The corvette is fitted with ALPER tactical navigation radar and SMART-S MK2 3D radar for air target detection.

It was planned that by the end of 2022 the ship with partial equipment will be towed to Ukraine for completion, but due to the full-scale war the ship was completed and equipped in Turkey.

Earlier, Socialportal reported that the Ukrainian president's wife Olena Zelenska, as well as the commander of the Turkish Navy and the corvette's crew, headed by the captain, took part in the launching ceremony.
