At the moment, Ukrainian law enforcers are investigating 28 criminal proceedings over the killings of 62 Ukrainian prisoners of war by the Russian military.

This was announced by Ukrainian Prosecutor-General Andriy Kostin during a telethon on 19 June.

As of today, we are investigating a total of 28 criminal proceedings over the killing of 62 Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russian troops," he said.

According to Kostin, four people have been informed of suspicion within the framework of open cases. With regard to two more people, the investigation has been completed and the cases have been sent to court. One RF military officer has been convicted.

The Prosecutor General expressed hope that the brutal reaction of international partners on the fact of beheading by the occupants of the Ukrainian military will be reflected in real steps "to pressure on Russia and ensure punishment for the commission of international crimes".

We shall remind you that on 18 June it became known that the occupants beheaded a serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Law enforcers have already established the identity of the killed Ukrainian serviceman, as well as the commanders of the Russian troops responsible for this crime.
