Granting Ukraine permission to hit military targets on Russian territory takes time, and time is crucial now, Defence Minister Rustem Umerov has said.
Ukraine has a plan to win the war against Russia, but it needs more weapons and air defence systems. Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov said this in an interview with Fox News on 10 July.
We can win. We have a plan. We publicly say that we need more weapons. And the hesitation to transfer those weapons and the hesitation to give Ukraine permission takes time, and time is crucial. But we can do it," Umerov said.
According to the defence minister, Ukraine is now using the permit to strike targets on Russian territory at short ranges only on military facilities.
Russia is already escalating this war. They do not count with people, and that is why they attack hospitals and other civilian objects. We want to protect people. We only want to hit military targets. They are shelling our cities and critical infrastructure, killing people. So we need more air defences and weapons to protect our people," Umerov added.
Earlier Socialportal reported that Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov called on all Ukrainians who are in Europe to join the Ukrainian Legion.
