Ukraine asked Biden to send those who could service F-16s to Ukraine, but he refused

The administration of Joe Biden has refused to send Kiev specialists to Ukraine to service Western military equipment, in particular F-16 fighter jets, due to security concerns. The Wall Street Journal quoted its own sources as saying.

According to WSJ, the White House National Security Council was considering a proposal to send civilian contractors to Ukraine to service F-16 fighter jets and other military equipment, but Western intelligence felt that such a move would be too risky at this time.

Specifically, the intelligence suggested that the Russians could target the U.S. contractors, such as by striking them with a missile.

At the same time, the states have asked European countries to assume most, and possibly all, of the responsibility for F-16 maintenance and have not ruled out that they could send specialists to Ukraine when the situation becomes safer for them to stay in the warring country.

The publication notes that this position of the White House makes it more difficult to operate the aircraft.

Without civilian US contractors servicing the aircraft, Ukraine will find it difficult to keep the F-16s operational. Apparently, sending Americans to Ukraine is still a red line for the White House," the publication said.

We would like to point out that a high-ranking Dutch officer has already confirmed that Amsterdam will pay for the contract between the civilian company and the Ukrainian Air Force, which provides for the maintenance of the aircraft.
