Orban was the first European leader to endorse Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.

US presidential candidate Donald Trump said during a rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, that he considers Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban a leader in Europe.

He called the Hungarian prime minister "a great man" and "a great leader in Europe."

Some people don't like him because he is too strong. It's good to have a strong man at the head of the country," Trump said.

It should be noted that Trump has made no secret of his sympathy for Orban and has encouraged the Hungarian's pro-Kremlin rhetoric with his silence. Orban was the first European leader to endorse Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. He has also publicly backed Trump in the 2024 campaign and in court cases against the former US president.
