A third of Russians justify the use of nuclear weapons against Ukraine
29% of Russians believe Russia's use of nuclear weapons against Ukraine can be justified.
56% do not agree with this. These are the results of a poll conducted by the Russian Levada Center, which is recognised in Russia as a "foreign agent", writes Liga.net
Russians aged 18-24 (23%) were least inclined to justify a nuclear strike against Ukraine. Russians aged 25-39 and 40-54 (32% each) were most likely to justify the potential use of nuclear weapons against Ukraine.
Less than a third of the respondents (29%) believe that the regime of dictator Vladimir Putin is ready to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine in case of necessity, 60% hold the opposite opinion," the journalists wrote.
The survey was conducted from 20-26 April 2023 on a representative nationwide sample of urban and rural population of 1,623 people aged 18 and over in 137 localities, 50 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The sampling error does not exceed 3.4%.
