Traitor detained in Odessa: Russian Federation financed his election campaign
The SBU has detained a traitor in Odessa who wanted to run for the Verkhovna Rada to spy for the Russian Federation.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has carried out a special operation, as a result of which it detained an FSB agent in Odessa who was collecting intelligence and preparing sabotage in the region. This is reported by the SBU.
The last month the figure was actively engaged in "promotion" of his own image as a potential candidate for people's deputies of Ukraine, - reported in the SBU.
According to the materials of the investigation, the money for campaigning was allocated by the Russian secret service. He also requested for himself a remuneration of 5.5 thousand US dollars monthly.
According to the publication Dumskaya, we are talking about the Odessa Eugene Dolenko. Recently, the figure worked as a florist and led a dedicated Telegram-channel. But then decided to drastically change his priorities and began to build a political career.
It is documented that the Russian agent tried to identify the locations of air defence and coastal defence means of the city, including anti-ship complexes of the AFU.
SBU officers detained the figure while he was performing additional reconnaissance of the area near one of the Ukrainian facilities.
The detainee is a local resident, who was remotely recruited by the Russian security service in October this year. At that time he received the operational alias "Mazepa".
Subsequently, the enemy agent wrote an application to join the pro-Putin party "United Russia" and in case of seizure of the region hoped to enter the leadership of the occupation administration of the Russian Federation.
During the search at the place of residence of the detainee, a mobile phone with evidence of communication with the aggressor was found. Molotov cocktail bottles and an application to join the pro-Putin party of the Russian Federation were also seized from him.
SBU investigators informed him of suspicion under part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). The attacker faces life imprisonment.
