The US government ignored the Russian economic forum in St. Petersburg

US State Department spokesman Ned Price said his government will not attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). He wrote about this on his Twitter.

The spokesman also urged other governments and private businesses to ignore the event.

We call on governments and companies to join our boycott and make it clear that there will be no "business as usual" while Russian forces are present in Ukraine.

Recall that SPIEF is one of the most prestigious Russian economic events, which is held under the auspices of Putin. The entire Russian elite gathers here every year, and earlier there was also an international elite. This year it also became known that Putin will not hold an annual meeting with the heads of foreign companies.
