The UK has eased restrictions for its citizens on travel to Ukraine
The UK Foreign Office has updated travel advice for Ukraine, easing restrictions for western regions.
This was reported by the press service of the British Foreign Office on 3 May.
The Foreign Office does not recommend, but allows travel to Lviv, Volyn, Rivne and Zhytomyr regions if necessary, but not closer than 50 kilometres to the border with Belarus.
In early 2024, the FCO introduced the same relaxation for Zakarpattya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions.
At the same time, the agency recommends refraining from all travelling to other regions of Ukraine.
As reported, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron paid an unannounced visit to Ukraine on 3 May. According to the British Embassy in Kiev, the countries started talks on a 100-year partnership. For his part, Cameron said that Britain would allocate three billion pounds sterling in annual military aid to Ukraine and that this would happen "for as long as it takes".
