The Prosecutor General's Office updated data on children killed by Russia during the war

The largest number of children injured due to Russian aggression was recorded in Donetsk region.

Due to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 1,736 children have suffered. As of the morning of 27 January 2024, according to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 521 children were killed and more than 1,215 were injured of varying degrees of severity. This was reported in the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, the largest number of those who suffered at the hands of Russian invaders were in Donetsk and Kharkiv regions.

Children suffered most of all in these regions: Donetsk region - 505, Kharkiv region - 326, Kherson region - 146, Kyiv region - 130, Dnipropetrovsk region - 111, Mykolayiv region - 101, Zaporizhzhya region - 100, Chernihiv region - 72, Luhansk region - 67," the statement said.

At the same time, experts stress that these figures are not final, and the work to establish the number of victims and affected children in places of hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories continues.

In particular, on 26 January, two girls aged 8 and 16 were injured as a result of shelling by the Russian army in the town of Mirnograd in Donetsk region.

We would like to point out that as of 18 October, juvenile prosecutors said that 1,497 minors were considered missing in Ukraine.

Thirteen children suffered from sexual abuse.

The agency also noted that the invaders deported 1,956 children to Russia and the so-called republics from Ukraine, of whom only 386 were returned home.
