The Ministry of Reintegration named the reasons why people refuse to evacuate from the combat zone
Evacuation from the combat zone is mostly refused by elderly people.
Elderly people do not want to leave the combat zone. This was reported by Ukrainian Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk during a telethon.
She pointed out that the main argument they call fear for the house, which they do not want to leave unattended.
Vereshchuk noted that it is practically impossible to remove such people by force, as there are no legal mechanisms for this and they can only be persuaded.
If we talk about Avdiivka, before the full-scale invasion there were 32,000 people there, now 1.5 thousand are left, there are no children there. Forced evacuation concerns children. Can we forcibly evacuate an adult, an adequate person?", Vereshchuk said.
The minister also said that there were not enough evacuation capsules for immobile people. In this matter, the government counts on the help of international partners.
We will remind, in Kupyansk district of Kharkiv region continues forced evacuation from a number of settlements. It is carried out according to the order of the Ministry for the reintegration of temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and the order of the Kharkiv regional military administration of 3 November 2023. As of 11 November, 245 children were evacuated from communities in Kupyanskiy district of Kharkiv Region.
