The Ukrainian Army continues to expand its arsenal of specialised equipment to perform tasks in combat conditions. One of such novelties is a JCB HMEE high-speed armoured backhoe loader, which will now be used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This is reported by the Ministry of Defence.
This machine was handed over thanks to cooperation with partners and is highly valued in the world armies for its unique characteristics.
JCB HMEE excavators have proven themselves when performing special works in difficult conditions and are in service with many advanced armies of the world, - said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Dmytro Klymenkov.
Key features of JCB HMEE:
- Speed and mobility: the machine can reach speeds of up to 100km/h, making it one of the fastest in its class.
- Armour: complies with STANAG standards, providing reliable protection for the crew against fire.
- All-wheel drive, four-wheel steering and locking differentials allow the vehicle to operate effectively in difficult conditions.
- Heavy-duty components: suspension and braking systems are adapted for intensive military use.
These excavators are in demand not only for construction and repair work, but also for mine clearance, fortification and track clearing operations.
It is worth noting that the Netherlands has recently again supported Ukraine by transferring another batch of weapons. The country recently handed over three launchers for Patriot surface-to-air missile systems. This equipment will help strengthen Ukraine's air defence, especially given the regular missile strikes by Russia.
Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans said that the upcoming winter will be a serious test and that the protection of civilian infrastructure remains a key task.
