The aftermath of the Russian strike on Kiev is shown

On the night of Saturday, 18 January, explosions erupted in Kiev after the announcement of an air alert.

Russia attacked Kiev with ballistics on the morning of 18 January. Explosions in the capital sounded during an air alert at around six in the morning, earlier the authorities informed about the threat of ballistics.

In particular, Lukyanivka in the capital was badly affected, here damaged the pipeline, buildings and cars, there are problems with water.

According to the State Emergency Service, in the Shevchenkovsky district of Kiev as a result of the RF attack partially destroyed an administrative building, buildings of a business centre and a shop. According to rescuers, 10 more cars are damaged.

According to the Kiev city military administration, as of 8.20, four people were known to have died in the Shevchenkivskyi district. The State Emergency Situations Service reported three dead and three injured. In addition, because of the Russian attack on Kiev three people were injured.

On the night of 18 January, the Air Defence Forces shot down two ballistic missiles and 24 drones used by the Russian army to attack the territory of Ukraine. This is stated in a statement by the Air Defence Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Since 19 hours on 17 January, Russia attacked Ukraine with 39 drones of different types, as well as four Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles.

As of 8 a.m., the Air Force shot down two ballistic missiles in Kiev Region and 24 Shahed and other types of UAVs in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kiev, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Donetsk regions.
