Stefanchuk reveals when Ukraine will receive an invitation to NATO
The allies in the Alliance are now focused on ensuring that Ukraine "gets the weapons, supplies, ammunition it needs to dislodge the Russian invaders".
Ukraine may receive an invitation to join NATO at the NATO summit in Vilnius on 11-12 July 2023, the head of the Ukrainian parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, has said in a statement.
As the politician noted, the meeting in Vilnius may become the beginning of Ukraine's path to NATO.
We expect that Ukraine will receive such an invitation at the Vilnius summit," Stefanchuk said.
He also added that topics related to Ukraine's invitation to NATO were being discussed on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
We would like to point out that NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg earlier noted that the Alliance's priority at the moment is not Ukraine's membership of the organization, but helping it to win the war against Russia.
We shall remind you that on 30 September 2022, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine had signed an application for accelerated membership of the North Atlantic Alliance.
