Khreshchatyk and Maidan Nezalezhnosti metro stations in Kyiv reopen

This was announced by Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.

Tomorrow we will open two stations of the capital's metro - "Maidan Nezalezhnosti" and "Khreshchatyk" - and the crossing between them. These stations have been closed since the beginning of Russia's large-scale invasion.

While trains were moving in the underground, they simply passed by these two stations. In turn, Maidan Nezalezhnosti and Khreshchatyk turned into concert venues. Charity concerts or shooting shows were held here. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held his interviews and press conferences here.

Subsequently a petition was registered on the Kyiv City Council website demanding that the stations be reopened to make it faster and more convenient for citizens to get around the city, who in some places have to make two transfers.
