How Ukrainians treat Russian-speaking citizens and migrants became known
Sociologists conducted a survey to find out Ukrainians' attitudes towards internally displaced persons, Russian speakers and citizens under occupation.
The opinion of Ukrainians was found out by the sociological group of the Kiev International Institute of Sociology.
According to the results of the survey it became known that the attitude of citizens towards IDPs is quite positive. 46% are completely tolerant towards refugees, another 42% agree that they would like to return to Ukraine (87% in total). And 13% say that they would not like to see refugees living abroad in Ukraine.
However, about 90% of Ukrainians understand the refugees who have gone abroad and do not condemn them.
The attitude towards Russian-speaking citizens is also considered normal.
43% of respondents are ready to let Russian-speaking Ukrainians into their environment and the same number agrees that these citizens should live in Ukraine (86% in total). Xenophobic attitude towards them has 14% of respondents.
Ukrainians have a slightly worse attitude towards citizens who are under occupation after 24 February.
44% of respondents are ready to let these people into their environment, another 46% agree that they should live in Ukraine (90% in total). And 10% have a xenophobic attitude towards these people.
