US concerned about Brazil's pro-Russian rhetoric
President Brasilimi blames the West for the war that began in February 2022, when Russian troops invaded Ukraine.
This was stated by the US National Security Council's Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby.
The White House gave its assessment of the remarks made by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva after his visit to China. He said that the United States was encouraging a war in Ukraine. And he called for the US and the European Union to start talking peace.
The White House responded by saying that the Brazilian president was repeating Russian and Chinese propaganda.
In this case, Brazil is repeating Russian and Chinese propaganda in total defiance of the facts.
Da Silva's statements overlap with those voiced by Moscow and Beijing blaming the West for the war that began in February 2022, when Russian troops invaded Ukraine.
Brazil, for its part, has not imposed sanctions on Ukraine and has refused to supply Ukraine with ammunition.
Kirby said no one was encouraging the war and it could end right now if Putin stopped attacking Ukraine and withdrew his troops.
