Spouses FSB agents were preparing a missile attack on TPP in Lviv region

The SBU cyber specialists have neutralised an FSB agent group that was preparing a missile strike on the energy infrastructure in Lviv Region, the SBU has reported on 26 February. This was reported by the SBU on 26 February.

Among the main targets of the enemy were power plants that provide light to most of this region. To fulfil the enemy's task, the Russian secret service attracted a local couple, - reported in the security service.

The main figure turned out to be a man who has been serving a sentence in a local colony for inflicting grievous bodily harm since 2023. In the field of vision of the enemy he got because of the distribution of messages in social networks in support of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

Subsequently, the FSB officers established contact with him and remotely recruited him. After that, they switched to communication in an anonymous chat room, where the prisoner received agent tasks and step-by-step instructions for their fulfilment.

The FSB agent involved his wife "at large" in co-operation with the enemy. At his request, the woman had to find the "necessary" energy objects and photograph them with georeferencing.

The SBU officers timely exposed the criminal intentions of the Russian secret service and prevented their realisation. During the search in the cell of the Russian agent, a mobile phone was seized, which he used to communicate with the FSB.

The SBU investigators informed the attacker of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

• ч. 2 Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law);
• ч. 2 and part 3 of Article 436-2 (justification, recognition of lawfulness, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

He faces life imprisonment. It is also planned to report suspicion of treason to the wife of the figurehead. The investigation is ongoing.
