Sister of a captive "Azov": we have a lot of complaints against the UN and the Red Cross. They don't do anything at all.
Families of defenders of prisoners of war are unhappy with the way the UN and the Red Cross deal with the case of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
Sandra Krotevich, a member of the Association of Families of Azovstal Defenders, sister of the Chief of Staff of the Azov Regiment Bogdan Krotevich, who is now in captivity, told about this on Radio Liberty.
We have a lot of complaints against the UN and the Red Cross. They don't do anything at all. The Red Cross has not yet reported how many people died and how many are in Donetsk hospitals in the uncontrolled territory. How they will return the dead guys - we also do not know. We are awaiting a response from the Red Cross. We are very outraged. They promised us, the guys, that they would return alive, but they didn’t keep their promises,” Krotevich said.
Sandra Krotevich said that the relatives of the prisoners are demanding the resignation of the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross and are now preparing documents for this.
The world cannot finance such an organization because it does not fulfill the obligations under the conventions it should satisfy. For 72 days, I have not heard from the Red Cross whether my brother is still alive and where he is,” Krotevich added.
After the terrorist attack by Russian troops in Yelenovka, activists and relatives of the captured defenders of Azovstal staged a rally on Sofia Square in Kyiv, calling on the world community to recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.
