Shelling in Kherson region: two dead, infrastructure damaged

Over the past 24 hours on 7 January,Russian troops fired artillery, multiple rocket launchers, mortars, aviation and UAVs at populated areas in Kherson and Berislav districts of Kherson Region. About it reports the communication Department of the police of the Kherson region.

The settlements of Milovo, Respublikanets, Krasny Mayak and Zmievka suffered from the air attacks of the army of the Russian Federation. Damaged at least 12 private houses, a shop and road surface.

The Russians struck different districts of Kherson around the clock, the shelling intensified at night. The strikes targeted life support facilities and residential houses, and gas pipelines were damaged in the city.

In the morning, the Russians carried out artillery shelling of the Central district. A 62-year-old worker of a critical infrastructure facility was fatally wounded in the coastal zone. There was a hit in the market, there were damaged trade stalls, a 66-year-old man was wounded, - reported in the police.

In the Severny microdistrict during the enemy shelling a shell hit a private house, where a 48-year-old woman was killed and an 82-year-old woman was wounded.

Over the past 24 hours the police responded to 144 statements and reports of citizens about criminal offences and other events. Three proceedings were opened under Article 438 (Violation of laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
