Scholz names number of Russian troop losses in Ukraine war
For the sake of extra square metres, Putin is sending hundreds of thousands of Russian soldiers to their deaths, Olaf Scholz said.
Russia has lost 350,000 soldiers wounded and killed in the war in Ukraine. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said this on 24 July, DW reported.
Scholz during a civil dialogue in the German city of Saarbrücken spoke about the losses of Russian troops in the war in Ukraine.
According to our data - although the exact figures are unknown - 350,000 Russian soldiers have either been killed or seriously wounded. And every day this number is growing by a thousand or more," Scholz said.
He noted that for the sake of capturing additional square metres of Ukrainian territory, Putin not only kills many Ukrainian civilians, but also sends hundreds of thousands of Russian soldiers to certain death.
Earlier, Socialportal reported that Germany was interested in the deployment of US long-range weapons on its territory as it should prevent enemy attacks from the "safe rear".
