SBU: sniper who was preparing an assassination attempt on the AFU command detained in Zaporizhzhya

The detainee is a former military officer and a resident of the regional centre. He is skilled in shooting from the Vintorez silent sniper rifle, which is manufactured in Russia. The traitor's call sign is "Phantom". He was supposed to carry out the assassination attempt with a Vintorez rifle. After an unsuccessful attempt and a series of detentions of his henchmen, he "laid low".

After the neutralisation of other members of the agent group, on "Phantom" later again came out the representative of the FSB. The traitor received a new assignment - to correct the enemy's strike on the frontline positions of the AFU from the Solntsepek flamethrower systems.

To collect intelligence about the locations of the Ukrainian defenders, the figure tried to "darkly" use his acquaintances from the frontline areas of the region, - reports the Security Service.

The SBU worked ahead of the curve. As a result of a multi-stage special operation, the Russian agent was detained. During searches, more than half a thousand cartridges of various calibres were seized from him, including 308 win cartridges for firing a sniper rifle.

The defendant is scheduled to be reported on suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

He faces life imprisonment.
