SSU: Russia uses mobilized convicts as cannon fodder
A prisoner from the Wagner PMC told how he managed to fight in Ukraine for two days before he was taken prisoner.
He arrived in Ukraine on September 21, and the very next day he was taken prisoner. The video of the interrogation was published on the website of the Security Service of Ukraine.
This is what the prisoner said:
We are being used as cannon fodder. Our commander sent us forward, at first we walked together, and then looked back - they were very far away. Ordinary cannon fodder: to know where what positions are, who is standing where. We are like cannon fodder. When we were recruited, we were told a completely different story.
According to the captive, they were personally recruited by the leader of the Wagner PMC, Prigozhin:
Prigogine said that convicts would fight side by side with experienced military men who would teach them everything, and they would not be on the front lines. Of the 1,200 prisoners, 267 immediately agreed to be mobilized.
The occupant decided to surrender as soon as he saw that the situation in which he found himself was not quite the same as described during the recruitment.
