SBU detained a mole in Zaporizhzhya OVA

The SBU counterintelligence detained another FSB informant in Zaporizhzhya. To fulfil enemy tasks, the mole got a job in the Zaporizhzhya regional military administration in October this year. This is reported by the SBU.

It is reported that being in the position of chief specialist of the cybersecurity department of the OBA, he tried to covertly obtain secret information about the deployment of the AFU and defence procurement in the region.

To obtain secret information, the Russian mole tried to use his access to the servers of the state institution," the report said.

Employees of the SBU worked proactively and timely detained the attacker, thereby preventing the transfer of intelligence to the enemy.

According to the investigation, the enemy informant turned out to be a resident of Zaporozhye, a radio engineer by education. Before he was appointed to the regional military administration, he worked at one of the local enterprises that maintains military equipment of the AFU.

It has been established that in September this year, on his own initiative, he offered the occupants his "help" in the war against Ukraine. He wrote about it to one of the Russian chatbots created to collect information about the movement of AFU units in the frontline regions.

He was remotely contacted by a FSB cadre and attracted to co-operation. On the instructions of the Russian secret service, the attacker secretly filmed on his phone the production facilities of the plant and the military equipment that was located there. He also tried to identify repair bases and other logistics centres of Ukrainian defenders on the territory of Zaporizhzhya.

SBU investigators informed him of suspicion. The attacker is in custody. He faces up to 12 years of imprisonment.
