Salaries of Ukrainian civil servants decreased by 10-15%
Civil servants are also expected to reduce and optimize. But Ukraine must receive international financial assistance that will support the public sector economically.
According to the head of the National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service (NAGS) Natalia Alyushina, after two sequestrations of the state budget, the salaries of civil servants were reduced by 10-15%. She stated this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
In addition, a third sequestration of the budget is expected. Nevertheless, the state is trying to continue to pay salaries on time and remain a good employer.
"The civil service is undergoing a test of strength. After two sequestrations, the payrolls of civil servants have decreased by 10-15%. We are waiting for the third budget sequestration. Optimization time," Alyushina said.
In addition, Alyushina added that Ukraine has signed an agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The total financial assistance from this agreement should amount to 1.5 billion euros. These funds, she said, should be enough until March 2023 to pay teachers and civil servants.
