Another concert of Russian prima ballerina Svetlana Zakharova with her Modanse project will not take place in Slovenia, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has said. This is reported by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
The performance "Modanse" of the Bolshoi Theatre with Zakharova as Coco Chanel was to be held on 20 August.
The performance of the Russian ballerina was cancelled thanks to the comprehensive work of the Ukrainian Embassy in Slovenia with representatives of Slovenian state institutions and with the assistance of the Ukrainian community in Slovenia.
The performance was to be held as part of the Ljubljana Festival in the Slovenian capital.
Russian culture is a culture of aggression, terror, expansion and propaganda. "Thank our partners for preventing the spread of Russian so-called 'great art' on world stages and platforms," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.
Zakharova was born in the Ukrainian city of Lutsk. She studied at the Kiev Choreographic School.
She is a member of the United Russia party. She is a deputy of the State Duma of the V convocation. Since 2018, she has been a member of the Presidential Council for Culture and Art.
In 2014, Zakharova signed a letter of cultural figures "to support the position of the President of the Russian Federation on Ukraine and Crimea".
