Russian Federation prepares storms in Zaporizhzhya region: what is known about it
Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesman for the Defence Forces of southern Ukraine, said that Russian troops could launch ground assaults in the south of the Zaporizhzhya region in the coming days, putting additional pressure on Ukrainian forces already under strain in the east.
According to Voloshyn, the attacks can start at any moment, and it is not clear yet whether this will be a large-scale offensive or a series of individual Ukrainian assaults indicating a build-up of enemy forces in this area. Voloshyn specified that over the past 24 hours there were five attacks in the Zaporizhzhya direction, and the tendency to increase them continues.
In the area of Priyutnoye the enemy is gathering personnel for assault actions. The occupants are also being reinforced with light buggy vehicles received from the reserve base of the Southern District of Russia, which indicates that they are preparing for active combat operations.
The situation remains tense, Voloshin said. Russian forces are using the tactic of quickly seizing trenches, conducting combat reconnaissance in small groups. In addition, despite reports of a shortage of shells, the Russian army continues to use up to 2,000 shells per day, including aerial bombs and rockets, and uses more than 350 FPV drones per day. Voloshin noted that it would be premature to talk about a shortage of ammunition for Russian troops in the region.
