Russia started to slow down the grain corridor again

Ukrinform

There are now 8-9 inspections a day. The need is 25-30 a day.

Deputy Infrastructure Minister Yuriy Vaskov told LIGA.net.

According to him, the Black Sea grain initiative is not working at full capacity because of the slow work of Russian inspectors who are supposed to check grain carriers in the "corridor"

Today we are back to the same problems. Joint inspections have been resumed. All four parties take part in the inspections. But they are now scheduled on average only 12 per day, of which 8-9 are actually completed. At the same time the need is 25-30 per day

That said, when Russia suspended its participation in the inspections, Turkey and the UN began to check the grain carriers themselves. Their work was very productive: the inspectors passed 46 ships on 30 October, and another 39 on 31 October.

As a result, as of 7 November, there were 88 vessels queued to enter Ukrainian ports, while another 18 loaded vessels were awaiting "exit" inspection in Turkish territorial waters.
