Russia has proposed a demonstration nuclear explosion

Russia is again trying to scare the world with a "nuclear baton".

Dmitry Suslov, a member of the Russian Council on Foreign and Defence Policy, has proposed a demonstration nuclear explosion. In his opinion, "the only thing that will stop Western politicians from a big war is the fear of nuclear war, when they see a nuclear mushroom live on all the world's TV channels.

I hope that the political and psychological effect of the nuclear mushroom, which will be shown live on all TV channels of the world, will return to Western politicians the only thing that prevented wars between the great powers after 1945 and that they have now mostly lost - the fear of nuclear war," he said.

In particular, he suggested conducting a demonstration nuclear explosion either on neutral territory or on Russian territory. As an option, the deputy director of research programmes of the Council on Foreign and Defence Policy suggested Novaya Zemlya, where explosions have been carried out before.

According to Suslov, Western countries consider Russia's statements "about its readiness to resort to nuclear weapons in case of a conflict with NATO" to be a bluff. He suggests proving to the world that the Kremlin is not bluffing.

It is necessary to move from statements to practical steps. And the most unambiguous practical step is a demonstration nuclear explosion," he added.

Russia has repeatedly threatened the world with a nuclear strike. At the same time, such statements were made by both politicians and propagandists. The rhetoric about a possible nuclear conflict increased on Moscow's side when it became clear that the West would increase its support for Ukraine and, moreover, would allow Western weapons to hit Russian territory on strategic facilities for the Russian military-industrial complex.
