Russia has attacked Lviv with drones and missiles: dozens of residential buildings have been damaged and there are casualties

During Russia’s latest large-scale attack on the night of Thursday 30 July, the occupying forces struck several regions of Ukraine simultaneously. In particular, several explosions were heard in Lviv. Residential buildings are on fire on Paton and Vyhovsky Streets.

“The rescue operation is ongoing. All the necessary services are working at the scene,” said Lviv’s mayor, Andriy Sadovyi, on Telegram.

As things stand, there are reports of around 20 people injured in Lviv. Furthermore, according to Sadovyi, people remain trapped under the rubble of a building on Paton Street.

“Rescue workers are continuing to free people from under the rubble. In total, more than 20 residential buildings have been damaged, as well as a school and two nurseries,” he noted on Telegram.

Local residents have joined the rescue operation and are helping to clear the rubble.

Maksym Kozitsky, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, stated on Telegram that, as of 8.11 am, the number of people hospitalised had risen to 15. Among them are one rescue worker and a child.
