Artificial intelligence systems will make sure there are no cartoons of Putin on the internet.

This was reported by the Russian publication Important Stories, citing internal documents of Roskomnadzor.

According to the journalists, Roskomnadzor and its unit called the Main Radio Frequency Centre will monitor the Russian Internet using artificial intelligence.

The system, called Vepr, will automatically track media content and look for "banned information" in it.

Roskomnadzor is also working on the MIR and Oculus systems, which will use artificial intelligence to find and block "banned information" in texts, pictures and videos.

"Oculus" will recognise and identify protesters from photos and videos, as well as monitor "photojabs, demotivators, cartoons, caricatures, sexual intercourse" with Putin and comparisons to Hitler.

Also included in the filter of banned topics were "demonstrations of the attractiveness of LGBT culture" and "images of faces that do not correspond to the traditional image of men and women (e.g. masculine female faces, men wearing make-up)".
