Air-raid alarms sound across Ukraine

An air-raid alert has been sounding across Ukraine since 8am. Russia began the day with a massive missile strike on Ukrainian cities.

The first explosions sounded in Kryvyy Rih, the head of the military administration, Vilkul, said.

In Odesa, Mykolayiv, Zaporizhzhya and Poltava oblasts, the air defence force responded.

Ukrenergo reported that the enemy hit high-voltage infrastructure facilities in the eastern and western, southern regions. This has already led to power outages in some regions.

Explosions have also been heard in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Local authorities are reporting air defence work. Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that in the capital, in the Goloseevsky district, rocket debris had damaged a car and the roof of a private house.

In addition, explosions were heard again in Kharkiv. Mayor of the city Igor Terekhov said that there are hits on critical infrastructure. There may be power outages in the city today.

Explosions were also heard in Zaporizhzhya, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia and Ivano-Frankivsk.

Air defence is currently operating in Lviv and the Lviv region.

One of the Russian missiles flew over the territory of Moldova.

The air-raid alert continues. There is no information and no casualties or fatalities so far.
