Russia can use the ceasefire to its advantage - Blinken
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken believes a ceasefire in Ukraine would only play into Russia's hands and could lead to a freezing of the conflict.
He said this at the panel "A Just and Sustainable Peace for Ukraine" at the Summit for Democracy, European Pravda reported.
We should all be very careful and be wary of what may appear to be good intentions - such as calls for a ceasefire, which could lead to a freezing of the conflict," Blinken said.
In his view, Russia will use the ceasefire to rearm and attack Ukraine again.
So, what seems attractive at first glance - anyone to keep 'the guns silent' - could turn out to be an extremely cynical trap that we should be wary of," the US secretary of state stressed.
