Russia blocks grain initiative: no checks on ships for two days now
Ukrinform
The Russians are effectively blocking the "grain initiative".
This was reported by CNN journalists.
According to media reports, the ships, which are part of the grain initiative, have not been inspected for two days.
Russia refuses to register the ships and conduct inspections there. Thus the Russians have practically stopped the "grain initiative".
Because of this, the vessels have not been inspected for a second day as part of the UN-brokered deal to promote grain exports from Ukraine.
The office of the UN coordinator of the Black Sea Grain Initiative said:
The Joint Coordination Centre (JCC) did not carry out inspections yesterday and today.
