Russian mole in AFU ranks tried to pass details of counterattack to enemy - SBU
The SBU has exposed a Russian agent in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who tried to pass the directions of the Ukrainian counteroffensive to the enemy.
An Energodar resident joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces before the full-scale invasion and served in Dnipropetrovsk Region. The enemy recruited him in late 2022.

The Security Service's military counterintelligence service, with the assistance of the AFU leadership, conducted a multi-stage special operation in Dnipropetrovsk Region. As a result of complex measures, another agent of the main directorate of the Russian General Staff (better known as the game) has been exposed," the report said.
According to the investigation, the Energodar resident joined the service for Russia's full-scale attack on Ukraine. He did his military service in one of the garrisons in Dnipropetrovsk Region. Late last year, however, the man was recruited by Russian intelligence. At the request of the occupants, the suspect was gathering information about the Ukrainian army's plans to take part in combat operations on the front line.
It is noted that the perpetrator kept in touch with the enemy through his mother, who lives in temporarily occupied Energodar. And later got in touch directly with the Russian military intelligence in Telegram.
On the eve of the counterattack by the AFU, the Russian agent received an "urgent" task from his "handler" to find out the start date and main directions of Ukrainian counterattacks. The traitor was also to transmit to the occupants the routes for transporting foreign weapons and military equipment. Defence Forces to the line of battle," the SBU added.
The traitor also tried to establish radio communication channels with Ukrainian combat units. But his activities were exposed by the Security Service while carrying out a hostile mission.
Based on the collected evidence, SBU investigators informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code (state treason committed under martial law).
A pre-trial investigation to establish all the circumstances of the offense continues. The perpetrator remains in custody. He faces life imprisonment.
