Robert Brovdi has taken over as head of the Unmanned Systems Force, Sukharevsky has a new position
The Unmanned Systems Force has a new commander.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Robert Brovdi, known by his call-sign "Madyar", as commander of the Unmanned Systems Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is stated in an official decree of the head of state, as well as in a statement by Defence Minister Rustem Umerov.
On the same day, another decree Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Vadym Sukharevsky from this position. As the defence minister specified, Sukharevsky will continue his service as deputy commander of the operational command "Vostok". His main task will be to introduce modern approaches and update the command system.
Robert Brovdi comes from Transcarpathia. Before the full-scale invasion he was engaged in business, and since 2022 he became actively involved in combat operations in the eastern direction. Under his command is the Ptahi Madyara aerial reconnaissance unit, known for its highly effective drone operations. The combat unit is engaged in both reconnaissance and target strikes, including operating behind enemy lines.
