They tried to smuggle cigarettes to Romania: Ukrainian border guards detained smugglers
In the Chernivtsi region, smugglers were detained trying to cross the border with Romania.
This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
"Tonight, in the Chernivtsi region, border guards stopped an attempt to smuggle cigarettes into Romania with fire. A detachment of the Selyatin department discovered a group of people who were moving towards the border with Romania and carrying boxes. At the request of law enforcement officers, they stopped. left their burdens and disappeared into the night forest," the message says.
The smugglers were reported to have carried 7,500 packs of cigarettes in well-known brand packages without excise tax stamps in 15 crates.
