Putin is ready to step up POW exchange with Ukraine - Austrian Chancellor
The Austrian chancellor called the conversation with Putin "very tense and extremely serious."
Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer spoke about this after a call to the Kremlin, First National reports .
On Friday, Nehammer and Putin had a 45-minute conversation. The conversation focused on humanitarian aspects related to the war against Ukraine.
Nehammer allegedly received "positive signals" from Putin to resume the export of Ukrainian goods through the Black Sea ports. The head of the Austrian government promised to inform the UN Secretary General about Russia's position for the deployment of a United Nations mission to ensure the food security of the planet.
Second, Putin assured that prisoner exchange efforts would be stepped up again. He is confident that such an exchange will soon be possible, Nehammer stressed.
Putin guaranteed access for Red Cross activists to Ukrainian prisoners of war. At the same time, he insisted on the access of specialists to the captured Russian servicemen.
