Kremlin President Vladimir Putin has declared an Easter truce at a meeting with Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov. This is reported by the media of the Russian Federation.

According to him, the Russian side stops all hostilities from 18:00 on 19 April to 00:00 on 21 April.

Putin said that the decision was made "guided by humanitarian considerations." At the same time, Russian troops, according to the head of state, should be "ready to repel possible attacks or provocations." He added that the Russian Federation would stop all hostilities and proceeded "on the assumption that the Ukrainian side would follow our example".
