Polish president announces military alliance with Ukraine
Andrzej Duda would like to see the friendship between the two countries continue for centuries.
Polish President Andrzej Duda believes that after Ukraine wins the war with Russia, Kiev and Warsaw should conclude a military alliance, which, among other things, would be a testimony of friendship between the peoples, the Polish president said in an interview with the Ukrinform newspaper.
I not only see such a possibility, I hope for it (military alliance between Ukraine and Poland - ed.). What is happening now, this friendship, which has blossomed so beautifully between our countries and our peoples, will become a friendship for centuries," Duda said.
Duda also noted that Ukraine has a good chance of joining NATO.
It is known that Warsaw has become one of Kiev's main partners after Russia's full-scale invasion. Poland is among the leaders in supplying equipment to the Armed Forces, and it has also received millions of Ukrainian refugees.
We shall remind you that Ukrainian and Polish presidents Volodymyr Zielenski and Andrzej Duda held talks in the Polish city of Rzeszow near the Ukrainian border. The meeting was held late yesterday evening, 9 February. The presidents discussed the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius, the situation on the Ukrainian front and security in Eastern Europe.
