Helping men to flee abroad: criminals detained in Kyiv
Law enforcers have shut down a channel for men of conscription age to travel abroad illegally.
This was reported by the head of the National Police in Kyiv Region, Andriy Nebitov.
According to him, the scheme was set up by a married couple from Kyiv. To promote their services, a 36-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman created websites. They offered help to men of conscription age to travel outside Ukraine.
The cost of registration of unimpeded crossing of the state border "for health reasons" amounted to 15-25 thousand hryvnyas," Nebitov said.
It is noted that the fake documents (temporary certificate of military conscription and certificates of the military medical commission) were sent by mail.
The police conducted six searches in the homes of the perpetrators. So far, they face up to nine years in prison.
